This project focused on creating a fresh, branded iOS theme for WhatsApp on iOS that aligns with its green color scheme while modernizing the interface. The iPhone app boasted "Apple Blue" as the primary color. The goal was to enhance brand consistency for all its platforms, drawing inspiration from the existing Android theme. This involved carefully selecting typography and iconography that incorporated the brand colors and ensured a cohesive user experience across both iOS and Android.
Validation: WhatsApp subsequently launched this exact approach (March 2025) with a new iOS theme using brand colors after my initial concept work in January 2025.
Apple Mail has become a staple email client for millions of users across Apple devices. But have you ever felt the frustration of diving into different Apple Mail versions and clicking away to locate specific VIP messages? The VIP experience lacks consistency across its implemented platforms. I addressed this feature miss for the iPhone Mail app (displayed below) by proposing a simple solution to view and manage specific VIP contacts conveniently. Other platforms were tackled as well.
Key Feature: The experience uses Apple's contextual menu component (also found in the Apple Stocks app), displaying up to 10 VIP contacts with a 'View All' option for larger lists.

This design exercise explores a ‘pause’ button for Facebook Marketplace, allowing users to temporarily hide a listing without having to delete it. This feature addresses a need for flexibility in managing ads, enabling sellers to take breaks when life gets in the way.
Whether it's a getaway, a family emergency, or simply wanting to delay sales until later in the week, users can easily deactivate their listing and reactivate it whenever they're ready to re-engage with potential buyers, and answer the "Is this still available?" questions.
Key Feature: One-tap pause/unpause control enabling sellers to manage availability without losing listing data or having to recreate ads when ready to sell again.
To my surprise, Facebook implemented almost an identitcal feautre in Holiday 2025.

Pinned conversations are convenient, but they can quickly clutter the interface, especially when all nine slots are in use. I addressed this by designing a space-efficient solution that dynamically adjusts the icons based on the number of pinned threads, drawing inspiration from common gesture-based interactions and user trends, such as in Facebook Messenger. This approach maximized screen real estate.
Key Features: Intelligent resizing scales avatars based on pinned contact count, supporting 12 threads total. Intuitive left/right swiping provides familiar navigation using proven interaction patterns.
Each pinned convo displays the name, text count, and typing indicator next to their photo, providing essential information without cluttering the interface.
Your message center only displays new messages, keeping the your messaging center clean and hiding conversations after reading texts from pinned contacts.
Pssst. I have other design bytes, if you're interested.
